Answers and listings
Your car answers and the listing fields you confirm are kept in session storage so one step can hand off to the next. Text pasted from a dealer page is read in the browser and is not sent to ClaimWorth. The session usually ends when you close the tab or window, but browser restore settings vary. Clear site data after using a shared computer.
The NHTSA VIN checks
When you check the subject or listing VIN, that VIN is sent directly from your browser to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration vPIC service. NHTSA receives the request under its own systems and policies. The lookup confirms encoded identity fields only; it does not determine trim, listing availability, value, mileage, location, condition, or accident history.
Repair files and listing screenshots
File selections in the Georgia preview stay in the browser. The page reads file names, file types, and sizes for a local completeness checklist; it does not upload the file contents. The actual files do not survive a reload. The session record can retain the file names and a fact-only marketplace-effects note until the tab session ends. Do not use a shared computer for sensitive claim records.
Anonymous use counts
The public pilot counts four actions: starting and finishing the first check, and starting and finishing the five-listing check. A finished first check includes only the result group—continue, caution, or stop. ClaimWorth does not send VINs, listing links, values, damage details, typed text, or a user ID with these counts. It keeps one total for each action and result group for each day, not a record of each visit. Cloudflare handles the web request as the hosting provider; ClaimWorth does not add an IP-address field to the daily totals.
What is not running
There are no ad pixels, lead sales, accounts, partner signup, email capture, payment processing, paid reports, or server-side claim records in this pilot.
